Faye,
I'm not sure of the death date for John K Rodgers but in 1879,at age 72,he applied for a pension which he earned for his service in the army of the Republic of Texas.I only started searching for his history recently.He did serve in the army as a 2nd Sgt.in Capt.Wm.Becknell's Company.I'm sure you are aware of his connection to Becknell.He may be buried in Lamar Cty,Tx.I have not found any record of his Burial in Red River Cty.
If you have any other info. on John K.I would appreciate your sharing.
