Larry, Had'nt heard from you in ages. See you are still searching for Dabney's parents. So am I. Haven't had any luck. Believe the 1780 birthdate for Dabney is correct. It matches the census records. I believe the 1781 date is due to the ink bleeding to make the "0" look like a "1." Would be nice if we had an obit for him. The only thing new I've found is a daughter of William B. Becknell (1806-1888) in Alabama. I lost her in 1920--she moved to another Co. to live with a son. Also Jean Gart in D.C. is working on a book of the Defreese line. e-mail me sometime. Jami if you read this--who are you?
