Two towns in Utah were benefitted from the library donation of Thomas W. Bicknell of Providence, RI. -- but it was a trade-off.
Thurber changed its name to Bicknell
and Grayson changed its name to Blanding, (his wife's maiden name.)
I am trying to get more information about this, to include in a Blanding Centennial history for 2005. If you know any information about this transaction, number of books donated, and correspondence exchanged I would be very interested.
